Srinagar, May 28 (KNO) : A crucial meeting of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik will hold deliberations tomorrow at Geelani’s Hyderpora residence to discuss Delhi’s talks offer and a possible “joint response.”

The meeting will also finalise the six-member committee to be formed for wider consultations with cross section of society to frame an alternate strategy to strike calls. A source said that Miwaiz and Malik would reach Geelani’s Hydeprora residence at 11 in the morning and discuss various issues and the prevailing situation. “The JRL will discuss Delhi’s talks offer and its joint response to it,” he said. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh recently said that he was ready to talk to Hurriyat and Pakistan.

However, addressing a seminar at his Hyderpora residence on Sunday, Geelani said that Hurriyat would only talk if Delhi accepts Kashmir as a dispute and makes the resistance camp’s 2010 proposal basis for the fresh talks. The source said that the JRL will also finalise the constituting of six-member committee that would reach out to lawyers, doctors, students, engineers, traders and other sections of the society for wider-consultations over finding alternate means of resistance. “The JRL will seek feedback on how to protest other than resorting to strike calls,” the source said.
